The Sun Is A Mass Of Incandescent Gas

This Italian science fiction flick (with cinematography by giallo godfather Mario Bava) concerns an astronaut’s mission to orbit the earth, whose rocket veers way the hell off course into the sun, sending a shower of deadly asteroids hurtling toward the Earth. Granted, I’ve been out of school for a long time, but isn’t the sun a star…just a ball of gas, right? I’ve heard of moon rocks…but sun rocks? And wouldn’t a rocket just vaporize? Guess that’s why they call it science fiction. This movie would make a good drinking game if you took a slug every time the reporter says the word phenomena or someone makes a sexist remark toward the female scientist…
