Pass The Crimson To Me, Jimson

Continuing my lifelong mission to see every movie featuring Linnea Quigley (not even close yet, and she’s still makin’ ’em, folks) I found this uber obscure thriller about a couple (actually brother and sister, in perverse exploitation tradition) who rent the titular room from their Hollywood Hills house and cater to their boarders’ sexual fantasies, for a rather steep price. Oh, the rent is only 200 bucks…but the brother has a rare blood disease and needs frequent transfusions…which he and his sister take from their unsuspecting horny boarders with an embalming machine. It seems like ages before Linnea finally makes her all too brief appearance, but her moment does end quite memorably. As creepily perverse as the picture is, the darkest aspect of it is the cinematography. It’s as if they had to sacrifice their lighting budget to rent the embalming machine. It should’ve been called The Black Screen
